This was my third time photographing Alexis, and that alone made this session feel significant.
Our first session together was a simple portrait shoot. After that, she trusted me to photograph her wedding — a day full of movement, emotion, and people she loves. Being invited back again, this time to document the season of becoming a mother, felt like a continuation of a story rather than a single photoshoot.

Moments like this are easy to overlook in real time. Life moves quickly, bodies change, and seasons shift before we realize how much has passed. That’s why maternity photography matters to me. It’s not about creating perfect images — it’s about slowing things down long enough to acknowledge what’s happening now, before it becomes a memory.
Alexis showed up grounded and present, and we let the session unfold at that same pace. There was space to breathe, to pause, to be fully in the moment. These are the kinds of photographs that grow in value over time — not because of how they were styled, but because of what they represent.
Documenting someone across multiple chapters of their life is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Portraits, weddings, motherhood — each phase carries its own weight, and together they tell a much fuller story than any single image ever could.

If you’re looking for maternity photography in Durham, NC that prioritizes meaning, presence, and honest documentation, I would be honored to work with you. These moments deserve to be seen, remembered, and held onto — long after this season has passed.
