You know those evenings when everything just seems to come together perfectly? That’s exactly what happened at the farm-to-table dinner in Liberty, NC. This was no ordinary dinner; it was put together by the incredibly talented celebrity chef Gabrielle Etienne to celebrate the stewards and land activists of our community. The energy was palpable—there was something special in the air.

Setting up as the sun began to dip below the horizon was a moment in itself. The warm glow of the sun painted the tables, adorned with fresh flowers and rustic tableware that blended seamlessly with the surroundings. I could feel the excitement from the guests as they arrived, and that’s where my love for capturing these genuine moments kicks in. With every click of my camera, I aimed to preserve not just the visuals but the very essence of that evening. It was about capturing the laughter, the heartfelt conversations, and the stories shared over a sumptuous meal that was crafted with love straight from the farm.

When dinner was finally served, and the sun set with a breathtaking array of colors, everyone gathered around the long, beautifully laid table. Making sure to capture those fleeting moments: the smiles that lit up faces, the clinking of glasses filled with local wine, and the proud smiles of the elders as they shared their farm heritage. Every shot was a story waiting to unfold, each portrait a testament to the connections being made. I find so much joy in event photography because it’s like freezing time—turning moments into memories that people can hold onto forever.

It was a night filled with rich conversations, shared experiences, and a genuine connection to the land and history we cherish so much. As a photographer, I’ve seen how crucial it is to have those moments documented professionally. It’s not just about the pictures; it’s about preserving the legacy and the heart of each gathering. That night in Liberty? It was a blend of history, community, and culinary delight, all beautifully weaved together in a way only a camera can truly capture.
